Ramp Up the Fun with These Summer Events in Arlington Heights

Summer is in full swing in Arlington Heights, and many opportunities abound for you to get out and enjoy the season. Here’s a look at four upcoming summer events in Arlington Heights to add to your calendar. 

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (July through August)

Throughout July and August, the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre will chronicle Buddy Holly’s especially meteoric rise to fame in BuddyThe musical authentically celebrates the singer’s life and tragic death in song, dance, and spirit.

You’ll hear several of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits, including “That’ll Be the Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “Not Fade Away,” and “Raining on my Heart.”  For your convenience, purchase your tickets online.

Million Dollar Block Parties (August 2nd-3rd)

Celebrate the Arlington Million a little early with the Million Dollar block parties in downtown Arlington.

On August 2nd, head down to Vail and Campbell for the Mane Event featuring a business expo and live entertainment by the Jet Set Quartet and 7th Heaven. Next, check out Taste of Arlington Heights on the 3rd for even more music, food, and fun! These two events lead up to the famous Arlington Million at the Arlington Racecourse on August 10th. Don’t miss these undeniably fantastic events!

The Bacon Brothers (August 19th-20th)

Join brothers Michael and Kevin Bacon at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre for a night of rock mixed with folk, soul, and country. On the above dates, Michael (an acclaimed musician) and award-winning actor Kevin will bring their unique blend of rock and soul to Arlington Heights.

Leaders of the Pack, Starring the Lovettes (August 21st)

Finally, check out Leaders of the Pack, Starring the Lovettes to celebrate iconic girl groups and female stars from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Experience modern renditions of classics such as, “Lollipop,” “Mr. Sandman,” “These Boots Are Made For Walkin,'” and more. Be sure to purchase your tickets online.
